QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. Why should I use your wireless
controller to turn my lights off and on when I have a time clock or
photocell to do the job ?
Answer : That is a
good question and first let me explain how each of the "controllers"
work. First off: a time clock will at a predetermined time,
turn your lights all on or all off, that is because
the lights are wired in a series, like Christmas tree lights, a
certain number 1- 10 or more on one particular circuit. If you have
a large number of lights you may have other components
(contactors) that controls a number of circuits, which is then
controlled by a time clock. As you can see, you can not control any
individual or group of lights with just a time clock. A photo cell
is virtually the same thing, it turns the power on to a circuit
which, turns on or off every light connected to that circuit. With
the Switchtech wireless control attached quickly and securely to a
individual light pole, you now have manual or automatic control over
that light and/or every other light down line if you choose.
2. Do Switch TECH wireless devices have
photocells or time clocks ?
Answer : Yes, as an
option you can order any Switchtech ST-1 or ST-2 with a photo cell
or time clock to have a structured schedule but still have manual
control for maintenance or repair. In this situation you would only
install one Switchtech device per photo cell or time clock you are
replacing. You would not have individual control or any
individual light, but you could manually turn all the lights
on or off from distance of 2000+ feet away with our wireless
transmitter. And with one of our "repeater" that distance could be
doubled.
