Rally around Switchtech designs.
Florida College Design
Professionals Agree
JULY 2009 - While the rise in interest and
attention is for saving energy and our helping our planet, officials
at Broward Community College were on a fast track to implement an
estimated savings of 40 percent in their parking lot lighting using
a simple but ingenious way to individually control each of the 167
pole lights at their South Florida location. With the
assistance of Switch
TECH USA's
design team a proposal has been made to turn off 75 percent of
the parking lot lighting at 11:00 pm each night, using the remaining
25 percent of the lighting to maintain security of the buildings and
surrounding parking area's. What makes this idea come together so
well is that with the "Switch
TECH Receiver" they do not have to re-wire the parking lots
which would cost thousands of dollars, instead installing a receiver
at the each pole takes only a few minutes, can be activated by an
automated timer or by the simple push of a button by the campus
security force at the first sign of an emergency or suspicious
activity. The energy savings and reduced maintenance cost alone will
pay for the Switch
TECH devices in as little as 18 months or less.

A truly safe turtle light and normal light all
in the same fixture with the automated control of
Switch TECH USA
Discussions
and agreements have been taking place.
JUNE 2009 - Several manufacturers of LED light
fixtures have been tackling the approval processes of the State of
Florida when it comes to safe and friendly lighting for sea turtle
nesting areas. Up to now most businesses and residential homes along
the United States Pacific and Atlantic coast line have been required
to turn off any outside lights during the turtle nesting season or
face stiff fines and arrests.
First the proper coloration had to be
determined and the effects of ultraviolet light eliminated. This was
accomplished using LED ( Light emitting diodes ) and just the right
color filter. The low cost of operation and 10 or more years of
maintenance free service were the perfect choices to save the
turtles. The light fixtures are also fitted with normal white LED
lights for operation during the off nesting season. Switchtech units
can be installed with fixtures and programmed to switch colors
automatically or manually with our hand held transmitter. Entire
areas could be transformed from safe nesting areas to normal
lighting in just a minute with little more that a click of a
computer mouse or push of a button... Now that's control for the
21st century.
